Interested by getting some fresh air in the French Alps? Making a wonderful getaway with your family? A romantic getaway in the mountains? You will hardly find a better place than the Heliopic in Chamonix, Haute-Savoie, a 4* hotel literally planted at the foot of Mont Blanc, just a few meters from the Aiguille du Midi cable car.
In this 4-floor double chalet with multiplied volumes, there are 102 rooms for 2 to 4 people, 4 apartments that can accommodate up to 7 people and a multitude of well thought out living spaces (spa, bistronomic restaurant, cocktail bar…). The whole thing provides cool-chic versatility and has all the assets of a resort, capable of serving and satisfying the expectations of families and young parents, sports enthusiasts as well as couples who have come to snuggle up near the summit. More urban than folkloric, the scenography steals the show, with 50 shades of sandstone, blond wood, design accessories, sunny colors (vitamin orange, sunflower yellow…), cozy wool and felt pieces. It’s beautiful, decorative, without overdoing it, in other words, just right.
COZY, PRACTICAL AND PERFECTLY CALIBRATED, the place also boasts a 500 m2 Nuxe spa (accessible to children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. only to reserve quiet spaces for travelers), a bistronomic table, the Akashon, awarded a Michelin Bib, a ski-shop, a library and a children’s playroom with self-service candy and popcorn. Paid parking on reservation. Our pro tip: the hotel also has budget rooms with unobstructed views. Ideal for those who wander around all day without worrying about their windows, preferring the full-size alpine scenery.
RESTAURANT – You can choose: the Akashon, distinguished by a Michelin bib for its bistronomic table or Frometon, a new restaurant of Savoyard specialties in which you enter through the maturing cellar!
BAR – Cocktail lovers delight, the Heliobar has enough to make many so-called specialized addresses blush. The hardest part will be to choose among the place’s numerous and tasty signature drinks.
SPA – Large swimming pool, ice grotto, whirlpool, cold water well, hammam, sauna, herbal tea room, Nuxe treatment rooms… A destination in itself.
SKI – No need to run all over the resort to rent or buy equipment, to fine-tune your skis, to book a ski lesson or even to buy your ski passes, everything is available on site, and shuttles take you to the foot of the slopes.
