Calling all oenographers (a clever name for collectors of bottle labels), fine-minded people and epicureans of all stripes! On the road to the prestigious wines of Burgundy, we’ve found a plush stopover, half mansion and half luxury vacation home, which has everything to please the wine aficionados and well-traveled insiders. Starting with its location, in the heart of Beaune, facing the ramparts and a stone’s throw from the famous Hospices. This is where the sumptuous Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa is located, a 5* address that combines, as its name suggests, a green setting and a finely designed Nuxe spa.
TASTEFULLY RENOVATED, and in accordance with the rules of the French art of living, this former 19th century building belonging to Burgundian master winemakers unfolds in cozy-chic fashion around the fountain and the shaded tree lined garden. Inside, 40 ultra-comfortable rooms and suites, all personalized, reveal a happy blend of old and new. The elegant peacock blue and the grey of the Bourgogne stone are warmed up with touches of brown, orange and burgundy. Don’t miss the inviting lounge bar, ultra-cinematic with its fireplace, its collection of carpets, its piano, its library and its patinated armchairs in which to savor the present in order to better remake the world.
RESTAURANT – A Burgundy pearl, “Le Clos du Cèdre” by young chef Jordan Billan was awarded a Michelin star in 2022. Special mention to the impressive cellar (800 references!) run by head sommelier Benjamin Maillet.
