The local beer Paradis, made in Saint-Ouen.
“We’ll all go to heaven, even me…” A powerful sentiment from Michel Polnareff’s 1972 classic French tune. Sounds good to us! To find that ever elusive sense of bliss, you’ll need a Parisian metro ticket (stops Château d’eau, Bonne-Nouvelle or Poissonnière), and a complementary sense of direction for the 10th arrondissement, near the Gare du Nord, the Opera Garnier and the Grands Boulevards. When you arrive at your destination, you’ll find no Garden of Eden, rather a resurrected urban oasis: the 3* Hotel Paradis.
REPRESENTATIVE OF ITS TIME without being predictable, the decor was imagined by interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon in a spirit that is half-Parisian condominium, half retro-Scandinavian hideaway. In this super stylized purgatory, with a living room-reading room and a chic lobby, cement tiles mingle with marble, patterned carpets, “wow effect” wallpaper, upcycled goods, antique finds, designer pieces and spectacular headboards. In all, 38 rooms are designed as small islands of paradise in the heart of the city.
Even if you’ve never heard of Polnareff before reaching this page, like most versions of paradise, you will get closer by heading upward. Indeed, hidden beneath the rooftops are a room and a junior suite with a view of the Sacré-Coeur. Heavenly!
LOUNGE – The reading room is open non-stop and offers the opportunity to browse through books and magazines over a cup of tea or coffee.
NEIGHBORS – The hotel invites its guests to discover the its very cool neighbors: restaurants, bakeries, wine bar, grocery stores, bookstores, stores…
