Looking to take a break in the capital of the Alps and the Dauphiné? Enchanted by lounging at the foot of the Vercors and Chartreuse massifs? Interested by a city-trip with a view of the Belledonne mountain range? Swing open the doors of Maison Barbillon. Close to the train station, but also to the business district, pedestrian streets, and attractive nightlife spots, this 3* hotel in the center of Grenoble links the Assas Group’s urban and alpine addresses, offering a decor as warm as it is friendly in the city of the 1968 Olympic Games.
Like L’Ours Blanc, L’Héliopic and Saint-Alban, Maison Barbillon was designed by interior architect Leslie Gauthier and remains faithful to the retro-contemporary codes of the hotel group’s collection: prints (patterned wallpaper, graphic fabrics, etc.), a mix of styles (antique furniture, Scandinavian-design accessories, etc.) and trendy details (a small library, a self-service record player, unique objects, etc.). All plays out in a cool-chic atmosphere that is perfectly mastered, from the large table d’hôtes to the grocery-buffet breakfast, which is generously stocked at snack time.–
OUR ADMIRATION IS TOTAL for its 48 ultra-cozy rooms, with or without bunk beds, which are softly wrapped in a palette of wood, taupe, cream, and white colors. A few kilometers from the first summits, a charming hotel for enjoying Grenoble on a cloud.
SNACKTIME – Every afternoon, the hotel offers a snack to its guests in the lobby. All you have to do is decide: tea or coffee?
PARKING – For travelers with cars, the hotel has a handful of parking spaces that must be reserved in advance.
BAR / RESTAURANT – While there is no restaurant per se, the hotel has a soft drink bar and a selection of sweet and savory concoctions.
